There are different stories all mixed up in one book:
— Wealthy and immoral people. This story is happening in the near future, where wealthy people dominate everything and everyone, including politicians and the US president. In this first part, there's much to think about, not just because of the similarities with the present situation, but also because it makes you wonder where we're heading to.
— Father and son. Two billionaires who love and hate each other since the mother's death. Where to base your life if all you have is money? The father is mourning his wife and tries to change his past evil actions through charity programs. The son is looking forward to sabotaging all his good doings, believing him to be responsible for his mother's death. Who is more guilty?
— An ancient demon possesses forfeit souls like his own in order to influence the course of history for thousands of years. It appears as the first information at the begging of the book, but then we have to wait almost till the middle of it to know more about him. There's an intent of foundation with the Jewish religion, but it keeps just floating in the air, unconnected to the book's main story.
In my opinion, there were some excellent ideas for this book, but instead of one, it should be two different stories. One is about the future and the billionaires with the father-son confrontation and another about the demon-possessing people, his story and previous lives.
